Following experience in family practice and after completing his specialty training, Dr. Schindler spent 10 years on the faculty of the Department of Ophthalmology of the University of Alberta in Edmonton before relocating to Tucson. He is currently an Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Arizona, a member of the American Society of Retinal Specialists, and has served as Chief of Staff and interim Medical Director at Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital. Currently he is a volunteer consultant for the St. Andrew’s Children’s Clinic of Nogales and has previously volunteered his services to Orbis International, the Lions Club of Nogales and the Arizona Mobile Eye Unit. He has frequently been recommended to the Best Doctors in America List by his peers. He has a special interest in pediatric retinal disease including retinopathy of prematurity.
